Just before 8am Sunday morning, emergency units were dispatched to Pennsylvania Avenue at Knollwood Drive for a single vehicle versus a power pole, with reported injuries. Engine 23 was the first arriving suppression unit, and found an F-150 that had struck, and completely severed, a power pole. The F-150 also made contact with the guardrail and a parked Chevy pick-up. The driver was evaluated by Kanawha County EMS, and refused treatment and transport. Engine 23 handled some fluid leakage, and turned the scene over to AEP.
