We would like to welcome Firefighter/EMT Chris 'Billy Jack' Avis as our new Board of Director’s President. President Avis was voted into this role by the membership of the department and will lead the business operations of the department. Prior to this appointment Firefighter Avis served as a Board Member-at-Large, and successfully wrote many grants for various equipment.

President Avis has nearly 30 years of fire service experience: serving 7 years at Montgomery FD, 18 years at Clendenin VFD (where he held the rank of Captain and served on their Board of Directors for 14 years), and the last 5 years with Pinch VFD. President Avis has a strong background in IT and currently works for the WV Office of Technology. He lives in Elkview with his wife, Rebecca, and he has two adult sons.

Since President Avis vacated a Memeber-at-Large spot an additional election was held to fill that vacancy. Firefighter Steve Teel was elected to fill that spot.
