By LIEUTENANT Jonathan Coleman
June 5, 2013

During the evening rush-hour on Wednesday, June 5th, Pinch VFD units were dispatched for a tractor trailer fire at the 6 mile marker of Interstate 79 North. A unit with the West Virginia State Fire Marshal was in the area, and arrived on scene within minutes. He advised the cab was fully involved with flames impinging on the trailer and logs. Engine 23 and Engine 21 arrived quickly and began to attack the fire. Engine 22, Utility 25, and Tanker 27 arrived minutes later and assisted. A mechanical failure is believed to be the cause of the fire. Interstate 79 North was closed for about 30 minutes, and then was reduced to a single lane as the truck was removed. No injuries were reported.
