Career Plans |
I would like to complete Fire Officer II by the end of 2010. |
|
Why did you join the fire department? |
In 1984 I witnessed a plane crash and along with other members in the Air National Guard we initiated patient care including CPR on a small child. After that incident, Asst. Chief Keith Mitchell asked if I wanted to join the fire department. After joining the department my career path followed much of the same course and doors were opened to allow me to obtain a career as flight nurse at the level of Chief Flight Nurse. |
|
What are your hobbies and/or interests outside of the fire department? |
My family is most important to me but fortunately they are a big part of the fire department and love participating in events. I enjoy motorcycling, boating, skiing, hunting and fishing. As president of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club, WV Chapter II, my hobby allowes me to ride with other firefighters and ems workers. I also enjoy riding dirt bikes with my seven year old son. |
|
What do you like best about being part of the fire department? |
Serving and giving back to the community. God has given each of us certain gifts and my gift was the ability and desire to help those in need. I know that sounds cliche but I really do appreciate the fact that I can help someone who is in need. |
|
What is your most memorable incident? |
Probably the plane crash that got me interested in being a firefighter. |
