Good Morning All,
We have made the very difficult decision to cancel our 2020 Hootnanny in the Hills event. This decision was made after lengthy discussions within our departments senior leadership, consulting with both the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department and Kanawha County Emergency Managers, and due to Governor Jim Justice’s July 13th order to restrict gatherings to less than 25 persons and cancel fairs, festivals, and outdoor concerts Please know that this was not an easy decision for us. After eight very successful years, this event has became one of our largest fundraisers and provides much needed funding for apparatus, equipment, training, etc. At the end of they day our primary mission is to protect life and property, thus hosting such a large-scale event currently is simply too risky. We hope everyone understands our decision, and we will be discussing some different fundraising options going forward.
For those of you that have pre-registered, we will be working diligently to issue refunds through Square. This process should be complete within the next 24 hours, however we have no control over how long it will take Square and the various credit / debit card companies to post the funds back to your account.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We could not do what we do without you standing behind us. |
