Pinch Fire Department is proud to announce that we have been awarded the 2014 Assistance to Firefighters' Grant. The grant was written by department members and Ohio Grant Writers for 30 new sets of Personal Protective Equipment. This is the largest gear delivery in the history of the Pinch Fire Department. The grant total was a astounding $78,000.

Members of the department formed a Gear Committee which spent multiple hours researching different gear specifications from different manufactures. The committee was able to form a gear specification that met all department and NFPA standards. The committee then delivered the gear spec to the Board of Directors' for their approval and to move forth on accepting seal bids. The committee received multiple bids for the spec that was written. After close examination the committee selected Globe Turnout Gear and awarded the bid to Finley Fire Equipment out of McConnelsville, OH.

During the past week the gear has arrived at it's final stop being the Pinch Fire Department. The PPE was issued to selected members based off of department policy.

Pinch Fire Department would like to thank everyone involved in the process of this journey. We are extremely proud of our members who spent countless hours gathering information for the grant and researching the gear to be purchased to ensure our utmost safety. Also, thanks to Ohio Grant Writers and Finley Fire Equipment for their assistance during this project.
