Auto Accident recovers stolen vehicle

On 01/21/2016 at 15:44 hrs. Pinch Fire was alerted to an auto accident with possible injuries in the 2400 block of Rutledge Rd. Engine 23 and Squad 2 responded to the scene. Upon Engine 23's arrival they found a single vehicle vs. a tree with moderate front end damage. The vehicle was unoccupied and found to have damage to the dash including the steering column. Crews were notified by bystanders that 2 individuals were walking approx. 1/2 mile further on the road and appeared to be involved in an accident. Lieutenant 2 notified METRO 911 of the information.

Kanawha County Sheriff's Department arrived on the scene and were able to locate the two individuals in question. Both were placed in custody. The vehicle was found to be stolen from the Kanawha City area earlier that day.

All crews returned to service without incident.
