Hotel Staff discovers Smoke

On 01/10/2015 at 14:30, Pinch Fire Department was dispatched to a reported working commercial structure fire at the Country Inns and Suites located at Crossings Mall. Engine 22 responded within minutes with a crew of 5 shortly followed by Tower Ladder 2 with a crew of 5. Engine 22 arrived on scene, established a secure water source and was met by hotel staff who states they noticed smoke in the laundry room and evacuated the building. Hotel staff was able to use two fire extinguishers prior to the Fire Department arriving.

Crews went to work going floor to floor clearing the building and monitoring air quality. Ventilation set up to remove smoke from the building. No extension noted to any other part, fire contained to faulty equipment. Hotel was deemed safe to reoccupy and building turned over to management staff.
