On 10/17/2014 at 0736 a.m. Pinch Fire Department was alerted to a reported structure fire in the 1300 block of Kaufman's Branch Rd. in the Coopers Creek area. Sissonville Fire Department and Frame Fire Department were also notified to respond as mutual aid companies. Crews arrived on scene to find a single story family dwelling fully involved with fire. Crews immediately went to work extinguishing the blaze.

Due to limited hydrants in the area, crews were tasked with shuttling water from the nearest hydrant back to the scene. Crews also set up portable pumps in a near by creek to establish a secure water source.

Family members were not home at the time the fire started and all household pets were accounted for. It took crews approx. two and a half hours to extinguish the fire and perform overhaul. The structure was deemed a total loss.

No injuries were reported throughout the duration of the incident.
