Grease Fire at Dairy Queen

On 10/14/2014 around 0930 hrs. Pinch Fire Department was alerted to a possible structure fire at Dairy Queen in Elkview. Clendenin and Frame Fire Departments were also alerted to respond as mutual aid companies. Upon the first units arriving on scene, incoming units were advised of smoke showing from the exterior with flames noted coming from the roof. Crews immediately went to work inside inspecting for fire and gaining access to the roof.

Crews were able to determine the fire was caused by grease and contained to the exhaust area on the roof. All utilities were disconnected from the store while crews checked for extension and ventilated the store.

No injuries were reported throughout the incident and the store remains closed until repairs can be made
