on 03/27/2014 at 1712 hrs. Pinch Fire Dept. was dispatched to a gas leak investigation on Upper Pinch Rd near Abbott Rd. Upon crews arriving scene they found that a back-hoe had struck a 2-inch gas line resulting in a free-flowing gas leak. Crews immediately established a safe area and contacted METRO 911 to have the gas company respond to the scene to remove the hazard. Upper Pinch Rd was shut down at that time to all traffic.

Gas company arrived on scene and deemed the area safe and allowed for the fire department to open the roadway to traffic. No injuries or active fire were reported.
