At approximately 2300 hours last night, February 24th, Metro alerted station 2 for a missing person in the greater Sanderson area. The male had gone out with a family member and had gotten stuck in the mud, the family member was able to walk out but this gentleman became lost in the woods and dialed 911.
Throughout the rainy night, crews from Pinch VFD, Clay VFD & Lizemore VFD searched the northern parts of Sanderson, they were assisted in the morning by Cedar Grove VFD to search the eastern section of Sanderson. We were assisted by Metro further with special maps they printed out and delivered. The male was located at 1300 on February 25th by members of Pinch VFD, cold & wet but safe. He was transported by KCEAA for evaluation. Special thanks for assistance from Kanawha County Sheriffs Office K-9 team, Kanawha Co. Emergency Management, Cedar Grove, Lizemores, Clay VFD’s & WV State Police Aviation Division
