By LIEUTENANT Jonathan Coleman
August 14, 2010

In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 14th, Pinch VFD was dispatched to a single vehicle versus a building with reported injuries. Engine 23 arrived on scene to find a single vehicle that had left the roadway, struck multiple rocks, a mailbox, a steel post, and a business. The vehicle suffered heavy damage, while the building damage was limited to a broken window. Both occupants were out of the vehicle upon arrival, and Kanawha Medic 297 transported one patient to CAMC-General Hospital for further evaluation. Both occupants reported wearing their seatbelts, and judging by the damage to the vehicle, there is little doubt SEATBELTS SAVE LIVES!!!

Units: Engine 23 and Rescue 2

Mutual Aid: Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority and Kanawha County Sheriff's Office
