May 22, 2016

On 5/22 at 1641 hrs. Pinch Fire Department was alerted to a reported structure fire on Benson Dr. in the Mink Shoals area. Within minutes Lieutenant 2 arrived on scene to find a 2 story residential structure with light smoke showing from the exterior. Homeowners reported that the fire originated in the kitchen area and was extinguished prior to the Fire Department arriving by the residents. Crews checked the residence and found heavy smoke conditions throughout the structure with smoldering area in the kitchen. Crews used water can to extinguish the remaining fire and checked for extension throughout the residence.

Crews ventilated the structure and temporary disconnected the power to remove exhaust hood system from the residence. No injuries were reported throughout the entire incident and crews returned to service without delay.
