On 5/28 at 1928 hrs. Pinch Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Summit Park Circle in Pinch. Kanawha County Ambulance arrived on scene and alerted the fire department units responding of a working kitchen fire with smoke showing. Engine 22 arrived on scene to find a two story mid-entry level residential structure with light smoke showing from the exterior. Crews quickly made entry into the residence finding the fire confined to the kitchen. Crew immediately extinguished the fire with a water can and disconnected the electricity to the residence.

Crews were able to contain the fire to the kitchen area. Crews determined the cause of the fire to be from cooking with heated oil on the stove. Crews removed the stove and performed overhaul to check for extension in the kitchen. No injuries were reported throughout the incident.
