By Keith Mitchell Asst. Chief
March 1, 2012

Three fire departments (Pinch, Clendenin, and Malden) respond to a structure fire in the Big Chimney area. Water had to be shuttled because it was too far for a supply line from the hydrant to be laid. About a dozen fire fighters from the area departments fought the fire. Two family pet dogs died because of the fire. The house was a total loss.

Units: E23, E21, E22, E12, E32

Mutual Aid: Malden VFD, Clendenin VFD, KCEAA, Kanawha OES, State Fire Marshal, Kanawha Sheriffs
